Intent Statement
Through mirroring the structure of old lumber houses, MU strives to spark conversations around sustainability and upcycling in the lumber industry. This table and bench set is handcrafted out of reclaimed old growth douglas fir wood and imperfections such as nail marks were embraced in accordance to the philosophy of wabi sabi.

This exhibition features the entire collection of our class projects. As the exhibition leader, I was responsible for overseeing the operation through delegating tasks, managing the budget and installations.

Raw Wood
We sourced our 2x4s from Unbuilders, a local demolition company. Imperfections such as nail marks, rust, cracks, and mold are present in these pieces.
Lamination Process
After jointing and planing the wood, we laminated them together to create wood panels.
